Custom Cut & Novelty Shape Diamonds
Any shape, any specification - CAD-modeled and cut in-house with a 10-day manufacturing turnaround.
Introduction
Most suppliers show you what’s in stock. This page is different — it’s about what we can cut on request. From classic silhouettes like hearts and shields to fully personalized designs — alphabet letters, symbolic shapes, brand-specific forms — if you can specify it, our team can cut. This isn’t a side offering; it’s a real manufacturing capability built on the same in-house cutting expertise behind our Specialty & Antique Cuts range.
Custom orders follow the same process as any other order with OCS Diamond: tell us your size, specification, or similarity requirement, and we’ll confirm feasibility and timeline before you commit. Standard manufacturing time for custom cuts is 10 business days, with the same IGI certification and internal quality review applied to every finished stone as our standard inventory.
How Custom Cutting Actually Works

Custom cutting starts with your specification — a sketch, a reference image, a description, or exact measurements if you have them. Our team builds a CAD (computer-aided design) model of the proposed shape before any physical cutting happens, which lets us simulate how light will move through the finished stone and confirm proportions will actually work before committing rough material. This step also catches feasibility issues early — some shapes genuinely can’t be cut without excessive weight loss or structural weak points, and CAD modeling is how we identify that before you’ve committed to an order, not after.
Once the design is confirmed, cutting is done with precision laser tools for the initial shaping, followed by hand-finished polishing to bring out the final brilliance and symmetry. Every custom stone then goes through the same grading and certification process as our standard inventory — a custom shape doesn’t mean a shortcut on quality documentation.
What's Realistic - and What Isn't
We’d rather set accurate expectations than overpromise. Extremely thin or sharply pointed silhouettes can be structurally fragile in a finished diamond and may need slight proportional adjustments from your original concept to hold up in daily wear — our team will flag this during the CAD stage, not after cutting. Very small custom shapes (under 0.10 carat) have less room for intricate detail than larger stones, simply due to available surface area. None of this rules out a design — it just means the CAD consultation step matters, and we’d rather adjust a design on screen than after the rough material is already cut.

Frequently Asked Questions
Custom orders are typically evaluated individually given the design and CAD work involved — contact our team with your specific requirement and we’ll confirm minimums and pricing.
Some — extremely thin or sharply pointed silhouettes can be structurally fragile, and very small stones limit how much facet detail is possible. We flag any concerns during the CAD design stage, before cutting begins, so there are no surprises after the fact.
10 business days from confirmed design, standard across all custom and novelty shape orders.
Yes — every custom stone receives the same IGI certification and internal quality review as our standard inventory.
Yes — we build a CAD model and can share proportions and a visual preview before committing rough material to the cut, so you can confirm the design works before production begins.
